The Bronco's played the Jets on Sunday October 8th. They lost 21-31 to the Jets, who've been struggling to get wins themselves. It was a neck and neck game up until the 4th quarter with a minute left. It was 21-24 with a good chance to get into fieldgoal range, and win the game. Russell Wilson feels pressure to his right and scrambles left. As the edge-rusher is approaching and tackles him, he drops the ball. He does this literally and figuratively. The ball falls towards the sideline and a Jets' defensive back swoops it up and takes it to the endzone.
This is reminscent of Super Bowl 50 in 2016 where Cam Newton fumbled the ball on the final drive of the game when they were down. Only this time, it was reverse. The Bronco's fumble the ball here, but in 2016, they were the ones who picked up the fumble to win the game.
It's been a rough start for the Broncos. Last season they only won five games. Sean Payton is coming under fire for the Bronco's underperformance last year and rough start this year. They have started this season with 1 win against the Bears. The other four games have resulted in losses. When they played the Dolphins, they lost 20-70. That was one of the biggest blow outs in NFL history. Will the Broncos make a comeback?
