Credit Advancement Assessment

Attention Students!  From AHS Counseling!

 Credit Advancement Assessment

If you are interested in taking the Credit Advancement Assessment, please sign up in the Counseling Center or email your assigned Counselor by Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Credit Advancement Assessments are scheduled for Thursday, May 12, 2022, at AHS from 3:45 until 5:00 p.m. To be considered for Credit Advancement, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be recommended by a former teacher or counselor of the subject/course considered for Credit Advancement.
  • Have criterion-referenced or norm-referenced test scores or course grades in an appropriate pre-requisite course that support an above-grade-level content proficiency in the subject/course being considered for Credit Advancement if applicable.
  • Complete an ACS Request for Credit Advancement Form, signed by the parent/guardian, a counselor, and the principal.

Opportunities for Credit Advancement apply to courses in the core academic areas of Math, Science, Social Studies, and World Languages. Students who qualify for Credit Advancement based on the criteria above will take an End-of-Course Assessment that covers all standards for the course.

Auburn City Schools does not provide preparatory materials for End-of-Course Assessments; however, students may review content standards using the Courses of Study for each course, found at alex.state.al.us.

*Please sign up and pick up credit advancement forms in the counseling department. Forms are due back to your assigned counselor by May 10, 2022.*
